WASUDEV’s Green Livelihood Project
At the heart of sustainable development lies the empowerment of women, especially in agriculture, which is a key pillar for many communities. WASUDEV, a community-driven organization, is honored to be a recipient of the ActionAid Liberia Green Livelihood small grant initiative. With this generous support, we are taking vital steps toward revamping agriculture in our region, and at the forefront of this transformative journey are the women who are making it all happen.
Thanks to ActionAid Liberia, we are growing essential vegetables like corn, okra, and various greens—crops that are not only nourishing our community but also providing an opportunity for women to take leadership roles in farming. The project is in full swing, and the results are already visible. Women are actively involved in every step, from planting to harvesting, demonstrating how vital their contributions are to local food security and sustainable agriculture.
In the photo, you can see a group of determined women working together on the farm, cultivating the land with passion and purpose. They are not just farmers; they are change-makers who are transforming their environment and the future of agriculture. By working the soil, they are also sowing seeds of progress, improving their skills, and creating a ripple effect that will benefit generations to come.

The support from ActionAid Liberia has enabled these women to access resources and training that equip them with modern, sustainable farming techniques. They are learning how to grow high-yield, nutritious crops while taking care of the environment. Their efforts are not only ensuring a steady supply of fresh, healthy produce but also inspiring others in their communities to get involved in agriculture and contribute to long-term sustainable development.
This project is a beautiful example of what can be achieved when women are given the tools, training, and support they need. As they work the land, they are also nurturing the idea of an empowered, self-sufficient future for their families and communities. It’s a reminder that agriculture, when done right, can be a pathway to greater social, economic, and environmental stability.

Many thanks to ActionAid Liberia for their invaluable support in making this initiative possible. With their partnership, WASUDEV is not only growing vegetables but also cultivating a brighter, greener future for all. As this project continues to grow, we are excited to see how it will inspire more women to become leaders in sustainable agriculture, driving change from the ground up.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey toward a more sustainable and empowered agricultural future!
